Chemically Damaged Hair

Causes:

  • Frequent perming, coloring, straightening of hair
  • Long term use of unsuitable hair products
  • Medical drugs or treatments (such as chemotherapy)
  • Chemical reaction makes scalps sensitive and damages hair follicles

Signs & Symptoms:

  • Rashes or itchiness on the scalp
  • Brittle hair with split ends
  • Happens mostly to teenagers, or young adults

Possible Complications:

  • If the problem is prolonged, hair becomes lesser and sheds faster
  • Damaged scalp and hair follicles will shrink
  • If wrong products are continuously used, it may cause the scalp to be very sensitive and develop rashes
